Work Description
At SoLo Funds, I played a pivotal role in the initial build and launch of the pioneering peer-to-peer mobile lending platform. During my tenure, I was instrumental in raising the company’s first $5MM in funding by contributing to a wide range of design and marketing efforts.
Working closely with the founders, other designers, developers, and customer service teams, I contributed to the company's early success by delivering high-quality design solutions and effective marketing strategies. My role encompassed a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from creative design and digital production to social media administration and email marketing, all of which were crucial in establishing SoLo Funds’ brand and securing significant funding.
Brand Style & Development
I was also responsible for developing the brand style guide for the company, which included elements such as :
• Colors
• Fonts
• Brand Philosophy
• Culture & Tone/Messaging
• Brand Values
• Target Demographic
• User Interface Design (UI)
• Design Elements & Iconography
Design Marketing & Social Media
In addition to my work on the UX/UI and Brand Style, I was also tasked with working on the design marketing and social media efforts for SoLo Funds, utilizing the brand style guide to create a licensed image directory and social media content that aimed to promote the brand and grow a social media following.
I created marketing ads that appeared in both digital and print formats, and were published on social media, the company's homepage, and other locations where the target demographic was likely to see them.
Takeaway
The amount of experience and opportunity I was provided while working with SoLo Funds is immeasurable. From working with other creatives, and non-creatives, making fast adjustments on the fly, and being able to adapt to an ever-changing industry in FinTech, I am both proud and thankful for what we accomplished as a team.
CEO, Travis Holloway had the following to say about me:
"While leading and managing SoLo Funds toward becoming one of CNBC’s “Disruptor 50” list, Justin was instrumental in helping the design and marketing of the company, to best-reflect the philosophies and values we most wanted. He was also helpful in providing visual and developmental components for our team’s digital needs, and helped us raise our first $5MM. He’s an honest person, and a valuable asset to any team."
